Frequently Asked Questions

Q: First of all, when are you gone?

A: I will be out of the clinic January 19-February 8 and again February 19-March 24. You read that right. But don’t worry…I’ll still be helping from afar!

Q: OMG! That is a long time how, who will look after me!?

A: This is long winded, so buckle up. I have 2 spectacular physiotherapists joining me from January - April and together, they each bring a unique practice style that will make continuing your care with me seamless and easy. For my patients that like IMS, all forms of hands-on adjustments and therapies, a compassionate and understanding ear, your go-to will be Michelle. She is a mom, triathlete, retired gymnast and FCAMPT manual therapist. For my patients that come to the gym with me* (including my amazing post-partum mommas!), either for their full or partial appointments, your go-to will be Marcel. With his keen eye for all things movement and his ability to program exercise specifically tailored to your injuries and/or performance goals, he is your guy. For my post-operative patients (ACL, knee replacements, shoulders, etc) you can see either (or both) Michelle and Marcel, but if you’re greater than 6 weeks post op you’ll want to transition to Marcel. For my patients who come to see me because I climb, ski, run, hike or use to triathlon, you honestly can see both of these physios because they’re some of the most athletically gifted and well-rounded people I know.

Q: How do I book, cancel or change appointments with Michelle or Marcel?

A: As always, please use the online platform for all booking.

Q: What if I just need to get in touch with the clinic?

For urgent communication, such as late cancellations or booking request, you’ll want to e-mail your physiotherapist first (see below) and text the office assistant at 416-709-8247. For non-urgent communication (any questions or concerns about billing, booking or appointments) you can reply to any email that comes from the clinic, send it directly to jennydeaPT@gmail.com, or text the office assistant

Q: What if I want to just get in touch with my physio?

A: You can always contact both physios directly (especially if it’s about last minute changes to appointments).

Marcel: marcelwallacemsc@gmail.com

Michelle: cuthbert.michelle@gmail.com

Q: How do we get in touch with you?

A: Please, please feel free to contact me directly. You can text or call me on WhatsApp only at 604-880-7986 (i’ll be on an e-sim). I will also be monitoring the clinic email but texting is much easier.

Q: Will direct billing still be available?

A: Most Telus Health and Pacific Blue Cross claims will be still available for direct billing. All other providers, including those with ICBC claims, will likely have to submit on their own. Any issues with this please contact the clinic directly (see above)

Q: What about Phil?? We loved him last time you went away

A: Phil is currently working as a locum physiotherapist at Burnaby Heights Physiotherapy twice a week and was not available this block! He also is working on other projects which bring him so much joy. You can say hi to him here

Q: Finally, what happens if I can’t get in or I need a different time slot?

A: Because your care is my number 1 priority, here are a list of practitioners outside of my practice you can turn to for help:

Lindsay Goodman, Physiotherapist (IMS, sports injuries, post-op rehab)

Mitch Merilees, Massage Therapist

Andrew Caroon, Chiropractor (not just cracking! acute & chronic neck/back pain, pregnancy/post partum care)

Sarah Lamb, Physiotherapist (concussion care, ICBC direct billing)

Jason Luce, Physiotherapist (ICBC direct billing, acute/chronic injuries)

* For my patients that come to the gym with me but would prefer to see a personal trainer at Soul Fitness (perhaps you don’t have insurance/benefits and would like something more cost effective) then you will want to see Samantha (sam@realpersonaltraining.ca), Gerard (226-581-3489), Shirin (604-961-1594) or Eric (lederic@gmail.com). I highly recommend all 4 of these trainers but their bookings and fees are totally separate and you will have to contact them directly
